Feel Good Friday: 25 Years of Mac OS X

I'm going to go a little Apple fanboy this week for my Feel Good Friday video(!), because as of last week, it's officially been 25 years since Apple released the 'current' version of their operating system (OSX) via their keynote at Macworld 2000 in San Francisco (hence the video quality!).

Beyond celebrating a milestone for Apple, it's worth noting that this version of the OS that was introduced in 2000 actually became the basis for ALL of the Apple operating systems up until today (including iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, watchOS and even visionOS!); which Jason Snell does a great job articulating in his piece from Macworld.

So in a way this presentation from Steve Jobs 25 years ago set the stage for the next quarter century of Apple innovation, and by extension a lot of the innovation that happened in other places, especially if you accept the assertion that the iPhone (introduced 7 years later at the same event!) was the dawn of the smartphone age. Happy Friday all!
